Basic Lawn Mowers Maintenance Tips for Beginners




Lawn Mowers are very important garden machinery for proper care and upkeep of backyard gardens. Nowadays, the advantages of mowing are not just limited to upkeep yards and garden but mowing lawns and gardens has become a hobby and healthy activity for some house owners.
For proper lawn and yard garden service, it is very important to maintain the good condition of your garden tools and machinery. Though there are a number of different lawn mower available in the market but on the maintenance side, all types and designs require some basic and regular maintenance to operate properly for longer life span. Such few tips for maintenance of lawn mowers are described as under.



1. Spark Plugs
Spark plugs help the lawn mower engines to ignite, start and function properly. Spark plugs must also be checked on occasional basis. For first hand advice, check your spark plug if your lawn mower is not starting properly.





2. Engine Fuel
Lawn mowers are durable and sturdy in performance but at the same time they are sophisticated in engine design. A number of lawn mower owners do not give much attention to engine fuel. The engine fuel must be replaced after certain time. Manufacturers of lawn mowers suggest using E10 based oils having 10% ethanol in formula.




3. Air Filters
Prior to spark plugs, air filters must also be replace on timely basis.




4. Sharpening of Blades
Lawn mower blades are the only necessary part for cutting grass and shrubs. Take timely inspection to maintain or either replace the blades with the sharpest one to make the most of your lawn mowers.




5. Cleaning of Blades
Lawn mower blades after certain time collect unwanted shrubs, dirt and debris inside the rotors. Take your time, remove the blades and properly clean the lower part to avoid rust and corrosion of blades before its expected service life.
