Tips For Choosing Container Garden Pots and Planters

Thinking of window boxes for a balcony garden? If yes then container gardens are better choice than hanging gardens. If you’re still in space and still want to make your own herb garden then selecting the right container or planters is all you need. Organic gardening is fun but slight different from container garden as you need to choose the appropriate size boxes and planters for your own container garden.

While selecting a container for your organic garden try to purchase a larger container, why? Because small containers dry quickly and have less space for roots to expand. The next thing is weight, try to choose a lighter container because the mix of soil, fertilizers and the plant itself will make the container heavy. Try and choose the type of design and color which matches your indoor aesthetics so your herb garden can blend evenly with your household atmosphere.

A simple mistake what usually newbie’s make is they choose shallow containers for their herb garden. Plants with larger roots need larger containers to let their roots grow freely and firmly. Another reason why garden tools suppliers suggest deep containers is that they preserve the moisture inside the soil as compared to shallow containers which dry the foliage quickly. Bigger the container means bigger the space for roots to expand and it is more fun activity for both adults and k ids than having artificial flowers.
