Chain Catcher Safety Features in Garden Chainsaw

Chainsaw chain catcher is a vital chainsaw part that is located just below the chain brake guarding the operator from sudden kickbacks. Chain catcher is a safety part that catches the chain and helps prevents the chainsaw chain from flying off the operator which can cause injury.

Sometimes, the poorly manufactured or poorly maintained chainsaws produce kickbacks in no matter of time which can be very dangerous situation for the operator. The chain catcher works similar as the chain break which stops the chain from jumping off from the brake.

In other words, in case of kickbacks the chain catcher prevents chain from flying backwards which can result in dropping the chainsaw right on top of operator legs causing him greater amount of injury in between the working operation.

The chain catcher helps prevent the chain being thrown back towards the user, if the chain either gets dislocated or rupture during the operation. The genuine chainsaw suppliers ensure to design chainsaw in order to minimize the risk associated with sudden kickbacks. Chain catcher is positioned at the left side of the chain just below the guide bar.

In case of kickbacks, the chain catcher alarms the operator and enables him to activate this brake by pulling the chain-brake lever.
